One of the actions in our CSR roadmap is to reduce our Greenhouse Gas Emissions.
Because transparency is a strong value at ADESIA, we choose to share with you our Scope 1 and 2 Carbon Footprint.
In essence, we’ve calculated the emissions of greenhouse gases we produced directly (Scope 1, which includes, for example, the energy used by our machines to manufacture adhesive tapes) and indirectly (Scope 2, such as energy for heating the site). The result is given in metric tons of CO2.
In 2023, our emissions for Scope 1 and 2 were 966 metric tons of CO₂, which amounts to 75.5g of CO₂ per square meter of adhesive.
98% of these emissions are inherent to our manufacturing process, particularly the consumption of natural gas to operate the ovens used for drying the glue.
One of the levers to decrease our emissions is to improve our coating processes. Our Methods engineers are reviewing each product range to optimize the time and temperature for drying our adhesives, without compromising their quality and functionality.
This short, medium, and long-term work should allow us to limit our company’s impact while ensuring its growth.
Let’s meet in a year to take stock of our progress!
In the meantime, you can see all our actions in “Our Commitments” section.
