We are committed

Aware that the environmental and social challenges we face are huge, we have chosen to enlist the support of BPI France‘s experts to help us meet them. Find out how our CSR approach permeates every process in our organisation.

UN objectives

The basis of our approach

The first step of our CSR approach was to identify the Sustainable Development Goals set by the UN, on which ADESIA has a significant impact and can make a specific contribution.
Here they are:

  • Good health and well-being

  • Affordable and clean energy

  • Decent work and economic growth

  • Sustainable cities and communities

  • Responsible consumption and production

  • Climate action

  • Life on land

We then identified 65 items that make up our action plan. These items are related to governance, employees, our purchasing policy, our customers, local communities and the environment and climate.

Climate and low-carbon strategy

One of the actions in our CSR roadmap is to reduce our Greenhouse Gas Emissions. To implement our strategy, we have proceeded step by step, starting with assessing our emissions.

Because transparency is a strong value at ADESIA, we choose to share with you our Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventory.

In summary, we have calculated the greenhouse gas emissions we produce over a given year, both directly (corresponding to Scope 1, which includes, for example, the energy used by our machines to manufacture adhesive tapes) and indirectly (corresponding to Scope 2 and 3, which includes all indirect emissions from the company, such as those generated by the purchase of our raw materials and services). The result is expressed in tons of CO₂.

In 2023, our emissions amounted to 11,226 tons of CO₂, equivalent to 624 kg of CO₂ per €1,000 of revenue.

The three largest emission sources are: raw material purchases, the energy used in our manufacturing processes, and inbound and outbound freight.

Our goal, in line with the Paris Agreement (an international treaty on climate change adopted at COP 21, the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference), is to reduce our GHG emissions to limit global warming to 1.5°C by the end of this century.

This translates into a concrete reduction of our emissions by 26.5% by 2030.

To reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, our methods engineers have begun a study of the coating processes for each product range. The aim is to limit as much as possible the curing time and/or the temperature in the oven without compromising the quality and functionality of our adhesive tapes.

This short, medium and long-term work should enable us to limit the impact of our business while ensuring its growth. See you in a year’s time for a first assessment!

To achieve this, our main actions are centered around the following pillars:

  • Products & Applications : serving the markets of ecological transition, eco-design of our solutions, environmental Life Cycle Analysis (LCA)
  • Raw materials : involve suppliers in the process, use more virtuous raw materials (recycled, bio-sourced, solvent-free glue, etc.)
  • Process : optimising the use of our tools and processes, working on energy and new technologies
  • Organization : communicate, raise awareness, engage, set an example

Inclusion and gender equality

ADESIA  is comitted in inclusion and gender equality. As proof, our professional equality index in 2022 is 94/100. In comparison, the national average is 85/100. This index, which is scored out of 100 points, is measured using 5 indicators and helps to advance equal pay within companies by objectively measuring the pay gap between men and women, while highlighting areas for progress.

Local roots and support for community initiatives

Comitted to its region, ADESIA regularly supports sports, artistic, cultural associations and local events.

  • ADESIA is a partner of the ARTFAREINS biennial contemporary sculpture exhibition, which showcases around thirty artists every 2 years, presenting their work at various sites in the Beaujolais region.
  • We also support the association Art Brut en Compagnie, whose mission is to promote the Art Brut movement. In 2023, the “Jouets d’Art Brut” exhibition was held at the Albert Camus school in Villefranche-sur-Saône, with the aim of introducing youngsters to the works of this movement.
  • Also in the field of artistic creation, ADESIA recently joined SUBLIME, the partner group of Les SUBS https://www.les-subs.com/, a lively venue for artistic experiments in Lyon.
  • Since 2022, ADESIA teams have been taking part in the Mobility Challenge in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The purpose of this initiative is to promote the use of alternative transport modes (walking, cycling, public transport, car-pooling) among the working population.
  • Sports wise, ADESIA has been supporting for many years Villefranche Beaujolais Football Club (FCVB).

ADESIA is also committed at the economic level through the involvement of its President in:

  • Réseau Entreprendre Rhône, a non-profit association recognized for public interest, which supports business creators and acquirers;
  • Territoires d’Industrie Beaujolais, a state-awarded label that allows the four intermunicipalities of Beaujolais to receive financial and operational support aimed at industrial reactivation and economic development of the region.

System and Evaluation

To measure the impact of our environmental, social, and ethical actions, we are currently undergoing the ECOVADIS assessment, a globally recognized CSR rating agency. We have also set ourselves the goal of achieving ISO 14001 certification within the next 18 months.
